What a gorgeous and fun DIY backyard wedding I got to photograph for Megan and Tom at Megan’s childhood home in Paw Paw, MI. The weather forecast was saying rain, but it turned out to be the best weather day, perfect for an outdoor wedding. When I first met Megan, I was so impressed with her sense of style and knowing exactly what she wanted and I knew we would be a good match. It was so so so fun to capture her style…I just love the images and I am sure she and Tom will too.
The style was dark greens, whites and gold….glittery gold with a fun vintage yet eclectic flavor thrown in to make it so unique to Megan and Tom.
Just outside of the front door was this lovely tree line….perfect spot to show off a dress.
How fun and comfy are her shoes!! Gold, vintage and eclectic….all in a pair of shoes.
They took DIY to a whole new level….they made these doors and the arbor for the ceremony. WOW!!!!
Gorgeous Girls in Gold. Wow.
Megan was so fun to photograph, not only was she extremely photogenic but up for anything….even when I suggest if she would climb up on a hay bail for me.
Megan wanted this shot…..she suggested “lie in the grass”…..um, YES please!! Favorite shot of the day right here.
One brave couple here feeding each other concord grapes in their wedding attire!!! 🙂
Anyone who knows my work knows I get EXCITED when I see this kind of light happening. I knew Megan’s priority of the day was good photography so I asked if they would step away from their reception to capture this gorgeous backlit images as the sun was setting. Of course she said yes. 🙂
CUTE right?? Megan had to teach Tom how to heel click!! 😉
This was a fun one to set up. It’s pitch dark and I am shooting across a pond…I love the lights reflecting in the water. I was pretty far away from the couple to where I would have to yell at them to tell the directions. Thankfully we have awesome head sets for me to communicate all day with my assistant and she was able to tell them what to do through me. 😉 It worked!!!
What a backyard, and what a beautiful wedding.
