Last night while I was editing photos, I read a facebook message from my friend Holly. She and her husband were on their way home from CT after photographing a wedding, and got a call that their two little boys and Holly’s family were in a canoeing accident, and nearly drown! Everyone is ok today…but they all lived through the scarriest moments of their lives. Holly’s boys are 5 and 3 years old. I was thinking about that quite a bit last night and thinking about my little three year old Norah and how terrifying that would have been for her too. We just never know what might happen to us or our sweet children each day. This last week has been a struggle for me. I have gotten some bad news during the week, and I have been sick and for some reason living with a lot of pain this week…so pretty much miserable. And when you feel that way, a three year old can go from cute to very annoying very fast. I was reminded from Holly’s email that life is so precious and so finite….and that we need to just hug our children a little more.
here is a recent photo of norah, eating something and of course getting it all over the place…which again can trigger the annoying perception over the cute perception…but I am saying out loud “you are cute today norah”!! And give her an extra hug…just because.
