Amy and Aaron had their wedding and reception at the Fetzer Center right on the campus of Western Michigan University. I have had the privilege of photographing many weddings there through the years and each time I am always impressed, they do a wonderful job serving the couple and their guests to give them all a wonderful day to remember fondly!!
I have so enjoyed working with Amy and Aaron…at our first meeting together I just loved their chemistry, sense of humor, down to earth personalities and willingness to trust me to be their photographer.
Fetzer Center has a bridal suite that is white, clean and classic!

Aaron and I met in 2009 at an apartment complex pool in Kalamazoo, MI. He was playing football in the pool with his buddies while my friends and I were laying out, soaking up the sun. Their football kept being thrown in our direction, by “accident” so we would have to get it and throw it back to them. We all began talking and hanging out that day. That same day, Aaron told his buddies he was going to “Marry that girl someday” talking about me. We went on a couple dates and then went our separate ways and dated other people, growing and maturing. Within 9 months we were back talking and dating and the rest is history. We have been together 8 years.
Amy is the only girl with three brothers. What a special moment here for her mom to help Amy get ready and she even gave her a very special gift.

Official proposal was at Aaron’s grandparents house on Gun Lake. He was shaking and sweating, he was so nervous. It was on Easter and the ring was hid in an Easter egg.

Seeing Amy through her challenging and demanding school and career goals. Amy going back to school to get her masters degree while working full time, interning and while wedding planning, as it caused stress and a roller coaster of emotions. Aaron was supportive and motivating. He remained patient and calm, while providing encouragement.
These series of bridal couple photographs below are soooo me. I love nature and gorgeous light. We had just a few minutes to captures these images since it was so so warm and I didn’t want them to melt. I so wish I had images like these of my wedding 16 years ago! 😉

One of the sweetest moments of the day for me as a photographer was witnessing Amy dance with her dad and then each one of her brothers came up for a moment to dance with her too, and then ended with her dad. Priceless memory there.
