Photography Lighting Class

logo flowers

This past Spring I took a lighting class at the KIA (Kalamazoo Institute of Arts) . This is a great place to take some wonderful art and photography classes. I am always wanting to challenge myself and learn new things from other photographers and artists. This class was all about off camera lighting and the different effects you can achieve. It was so nice to learn something new each time!! I always love taking time to learn and grow and be sharpened by other peers….and its so nice to have a place like the KIA just two blocks from my studio. 🙂

These two photographs we had a light outside of the window to simulate daylight (it was late in the evening, and there was no good quality of light coming through the window). We also backlit the model.

This photograph we were working on lighting the subject yet bringing in the ambient light from the lamps.

Same kind of concept here as the above photograph…the above photo I used a studio light and this image below I used my OCF (off camera flash).

Again using OCF to work with the light provided in the room (ambient light) and getting good light on our model.
