As some of you may know (and supported me on), I was in a photography contest with the photo below as my entry.
The contest was hosted by my wonderful local camera store, Norman Camera Company. I was trying so hard to win the contest to get my sister the first prize….which was a Canon Rebel…..a great little starter camera as she is hoping to learn photography more. Sadly, I lost the contest by a small margin right at the end of the contest. It was a really tough loss since I had the lead most of the month. I did however win second price and that is a little Canon PowerShot kit that comes with a memory card and a cute little camera case.
Honestly, I have no use for this point and shoot camera…so I thought and prayed about what to do with it. I thought about selling it online and getting some money for it, but then an idea came to mind to “pay it forward” to all of my wonderful supporters who voted so faithfully for me the month of July. I had so many people cheering me on, and telling me how much they loved my image, and it was so fun to see how people reacted to this photograph that I love so dearly. Even though I lost, I was able to get over 4,000 votes, and I am so grateful for that. So in a way to say thanks I am going to be offering this camera to one of my lucky supporters!!!
So here are the simple rules….
1. Leave a comment at the end of this blog post. It MUST be on the blog (not a comment on Facebook) to count! You MUST include your name and email address in the comment so that I can contact you if you won, and of course you can say something nice too! 🙂
2. If you win, you must be able to pick up the camera at my studio located in downtown Kalamazoo, MI. Or I ask that you kindly pay the shipping for it to ship to your place. 🙂
3. I ask that you please share it with your friends and family as you did so well when you were supporting me so everyone has a chance to win.
The contest will end on MONDAY, August 19th. The winner will be announced on my blog and on facebook. So keep a close eye out!! The winner will be contacted and have ONE WEEK to pick up their prize….if they do not do so, we will be picking another winner.
