Kalamazoo Michigan Wedding Photographer
I have looked forward to this very special wedding for quite awhile. My little Noelle was one of the adorable flower girls and she kept saying how beautiful Zayda was in her wedding dress….she was so so right. 💕I asked Cole and Zayda to tell us a little about them and their memories of their wedding day…enjoy!
Please tell us your love story….how did you meet? Did you date right away? How long have you been together?
Cole and I met at church when we were 8 and 9. We were friends all through elementary, middle school, and high school. I was shy and awkward and he was goofy and outspoken I’ve always had a crush on Cole. It wasn’t until 9th grade that he started to feel the same. Since then we’ve both kind of knew that we would be together. We didn’t officially start dating until after high school, we would just hang out as “special friends”. July 11, 2015 Cole asked me out while we were watching Jurassic world at the drive-in with our friends. Dating was fun. Who doesn’t love picnics with their best friend, but it wasn’t enough. We wanted to get married. On August 10, 2016 … Cole proposed.
The wedding was at our church, Northbridge Church…not the easiest place to photograph getting ready shots in the nursery….but Zayda was so gorgeous, she made it pretty easy for me.
Cole wrote Zayda a note and it was delivered while she was getting ready. So so sweet to see her fill with emotion reading a note just to her from her soon to be husband.
Tell us about the proposal!! We all love a good “love story”!!
Cole- She is kind to everyone regardless of how they treat her.
Zayda -Cole is so loving. He has such a great love for people. He is quick to apologize and quick to forgive.
It was an extra special treat to photograph this wedding party. I know each and every one of these sweet people, and we had a lot of fun and laughs through out the day. I actually used to babysit some of them….crazy!! (Do you see my cute little Noelle)?? 😍
We LOVE Zayda….and Noelle didn’t really understand what it meant to be a flower girl, but she knew it was special. Zayda will always have a special place in our hearts because she babysat Noelle for us once a week for a whole year. She knows our little Noelle is a stinker sometimes, and loves her through it all.
It was warm and very very muggy and they still were very willing to ninja jump for me. 😉
HUGE shout out to Angie Ridgeway of Passiflora….she did all the decorating! Making a plain white tent look so incredibly charming and romantic.
The speeches were a perfect balance of sweet, sentimental, humorous and loving.
The First Dance…
These two families are pretty fun folks. My family was able to spend a weekend with them camping and attending a Christian music festival together one month before the wedding and had such a great time. Lots of love to both these families….there is no doubt many more good memories will be made together with all of them.
We love to eat. We enjoy trying new restaurants and different kinds of food. We also enjoy watching movies and playing board games. And we are looking into trying hiking.
Zayda- I wish I would’ve eaten more chicken.
Cole- I would have gotten pre tied bow ties for my groomsmen.
It was warm….and so very humid, but they didn’t complain at all (I think I did enough for them) 😉 … the sun was “in and out ” all day….so I was happy to capture it’s magic when it would let me for Cole and Zayda.
1. Glorify and Enjoy God now in preparation to enjoy Him forever.
2. Serve and Enjoy Each Other, keeping our vows everyday.
3. Raise as many Children as we are able to love and provide for.
Cole- People say the whole wedding day is a party. Not true, the party doesn’t really start until after the ceremony, because you are still nervous
. Zayda- Don’t worry about all those little mishaps, they will work themselves out. Enjoy your day!
